Find your happiness
and learn to put it first.

Welcome to Adult and Child Trauma Services, a safe space dedicated to supporting your healing, happiness, and self-discovery.

What makes Us Unique

At Adult and Child Trauma Services, we do more than provide therapy—we create spaces where healing feels possible, personal, and culturally grounded. Here’s what sets us apart:

Culturally Responsive & Trauma-Informed

We understand that trauma doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Our clinicians are trained to address racial identity, generational trauma, and systemic stressors with empathy and expertise—making sure you feel seen and validated.

Therapy + Empowerment Tools

From personalized therapy sessions to self-guided workbooks, healing circles, and community workshops, we meet you where you are with tools that fit your lifestyle and story.

Whole-Family & Community Approach

We believe healing is relational. That’s why we offer support for individuals, families, and youth—creating change not just in one life, but across generations.

Accessible, Compassionate Care

We offer sliding scale pricing, therapy packages, and flexible scheduling to ensure everyone has access to the care they deserve—without shame or stigma.

A Message from the Founder.

Welcome

I started this practice with one powerful belief: healing is possible when people feel seen, heard, and valued. As a clinician, a mother, and a woman who has walked through my own journey of healing, I know firsthand how important it is to have a safe space that understands the complexity of trauma—especially for Black and Brown individuals and families.

Adult and Child Trauma Services/CJL Counseling Services was created to be more than a counseling service. It is a movement—a commitment to helping people break generational cycles, restore their sense of identity, and walk boldly in their truth. Our therapists are not just trained professionals—they are compassionate, culturally aware advocates who believe in your story and your strength

Whether you're here for yourself, your child, or someone you love, I want you to know: you are not alone, and your healing matters.

With care,
Elaine Smith, LCPC, NCC
