1. What is ACTS Care?
ACTS (Adult and Child Trauma Services) Care is a division of CJL Counseling Services LLC that offers trauma-informed mental health services to children, adults, and families. Our mission is to provide accessible, compassionate, and culturally responsive care to those affected by trauma.

2. Where are you located?
We are based in Illinois and offer both in-person and telehealth appointments. Please check our Contact or Locations page for our latest service sites.

3. Who do you serve?
We serve individuals of all ages, including children, teens, adults, and families who have experienced trauma, abuse, neglect, or other emotional challenges.

Trauma-informed care is an approach that recognizes the impact of trauma on a person’s mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Our clinicians create a safe, supportive space that empowers clients without retraumatizing them.

7. How much do your services cost?
We offer affordable sliding-scale options and accept several insurance providers. For those affected by new legislation or economic hardship, we also provide low-cost and grant-supported services. Please contact us to discuss your options.

8. What insurance do you accept?
We accept many Medicaid plans and private insurance carriers. Please call our office to verify coverage before your first appointment.

9. Do you offer services for people without insurance?
Yes. We are committed to serving the community. For uninsured individuals, we provide sliding scale rates and limited free sessions through grant programs.

10. How do I schedule an appointment?
You can call us directly, use our online contact form, or email us to schedule an intake appointment. We aim to return all inquiries within 48 business hours.

11. What should I expect during my first session?
Your first session is an intake appointment where we will learn about your needs, history, and goals. Together, we’ll create a personalized plan to support your healing process.

12. Can I choose my counselor?
Yes, we do our best to match you with a counselor based on your preferences, needs, and availability.

13. Do you offer counseling for children and teens?
Absolutely. We specialize in working with youth impacted by trauma, behavioral challenges, family issues, and school-related stress.

14. Do you partner with schools, shelters, or residential programs?
Yes. We provide on-site services and collaborate with youth programs, residential homes, schools, and DCFS placements to support children in their environments.
