Angelica Cervantes, Mental Health Therapist, Intern
Actively Seeking New Clients
Bilingual: Spanish-English
Angelica Cervantes is a Chicago native, bilingual (Spanish/English) that uses mental health services to tie back into her community. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from National Louis University, and is now attending her alma mater to earn a Master’s of Science in Counseling.
Cervantes’s main focus is on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Integrative therapy –a holistic approach to therapy that combines ideas and techniques from different therapeutic schools of thought. Her efforts are heart-felt from personal experience growing up witnessing various forms of trauma.
“Growing up witnessing the people around me struggle and in need of support, I realized that unbeknownst to them, that there are people out there like me who want nothing more, but to help. My clinical focus is working with the Adolescents population, and adults.”
Therapy is the first step to change, and not all change is bad. Therapy has not only helped increase Cervantes’s awareness of her own mental health issues, but it transformed her into a much more optimistic person compared to before.
She’s volunteered many summers helping youth in impoverished communities.
“I am not your average therapist. I will give you what you need. I am the purest form of authenticity.”
