“As your therapist, I will work to facilitate opportunities where you can deliberately tend to your needs while being heard through valuable and stimulating conversations.”
Ogunro is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from National Louis University.
Although, Ogunro has experience working with children, adolescents, older adults, and individuals with intellectual deficits and behavioral disorders, she is open to working with a wide range of clientele regardless of background, personal identifier, or limitations.
She plans to leverage her 15+ years of professional experience in client-centered services to collaborate with those striving for the change they want for themselves while empowering them to achieve realistic and fulfilling goals.
“As a person-of-color and child of immigrant parents, I am committed to reducing the stigma of seeking mental health services in minority populations. I want to create a safe space where healing from trauma, developing valuable tools and skills, and becoming one’s authentic self is a standard, acceptable, and necessary occurrence.”
Ogunro’s counseling style is warm and interactive. She bring a relatable, humorous, and compassionate charm to her counseling sessions that encourage open dialog and transparency. She sticks to an approach that integrates person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, narrative, and trauma-informed care.
“Together, we will utilize an approach that resonates with your needs and yields the most effective results.”
