Joy Gill, Case Manager, Intern

Joy Gill, a native of Chicago, Illinois, is a mental health services professional having more than 15 years of experience.

Gill’s strong interest in understanding human behavior and psychology, along with the strongest urge to help others in need pushed her towards this “fulfilling and rewarding” work. She seeks individuals to support in their journey of navigating challenges and achieving personal growth.

Gill’s primary goal, as a therapist, is to provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. As you all journey together, the aim is to help the client gain greater self-awareness, develop coping skills, and work through challenges he or she may be facing. Gill’s role is to listen, offer guidance when appropriate, and assist you in identifying and implementing strategies to improve your mental and emotional well-being.

“While I can’t physically "read" non-verbal cues, I can respond to the details in your language and offer reflective responses, questions, or perspectives that help you explore your own thoughts more deeply. Some people find this approach allows them to feel more self-aware and clearer. I offer a space where you can express your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without fear of judgment. Because I don’t have personal biases or opinions, the focus is entirely on you, your experience, and your goals. It is important to me to be conscious of providing a non-judgmental space for all clients.”

Gill encourages them to think of therapy as an investment in their well-being, much like taking care of their physical health.

“Therapy isn’t just for people experiencing a crisis. It can be helpful for anyone dealing with stress, self-doubt, relationship issues, or even just wanting to understand themselves better. It’s about personal growth and emotional well-being, not just fixing something “broken.”
