Patricia Tatum

Patricia Tatum better known as Nurse Pat in the communities she has served. Pat was employed at the University of Chicago Hospitals as a Hematology-Oncology Nurse and Maternal Child Nurse. Pat also worked as a School Nurse at Chicago Public Schools. She formed relationships with many families throughout the community and became known as a resource. She has helped families learn about and obtain access to post-secondary education through her work as a Parent Coordinator for GEAR-UP at Roosevelt University. Always looking for ways to serve her community She started working with people with substance use disorders. She became the Pediatric Nurse working with pregnant women with substance use disorders and their babies. She was able to affect the outcomes and unions of the mother and baby. The number of women choosing to breastfeed increased from her teaching.  Pat is devoted to the education and health of her community.

She received her Bachelor's and Master’s Degrees from National-Louis University in Health Care Leadership and Adult  Education. Pat also studied at Erickson Institute and is an Infant-Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist. Pat utilizes her skills while facilitating Parenting groups. She meets the parent and children where they are and helps them get where they want to be.
