Self-Love and What it Really Means
Welcoming Self-Love
If you’ve noticed you don’t show yourself the necessary love that you deserve and you’re determined to change that, you must first and foremost make the conscious decision to do so and to welcome this love entirely. Practices such as journaling and meditating are catalysts for diving into your subconscious and gaining the crucial understanding of how you feel about yourself and others.
Some may say or think that it’s egotistic to love yourself or to make it your mission to arrive at this place. This couldn’t be further from the truth, and it is often a projection of insecurity from others when they have unkind thoughts and things to say when they see someone working on their self-love journey.
Self-love means that you accept yourself, flaws and all and that you present yourself with gentleness when you need it the most. No one in this life is perfect, even if it appears that way from the outside looking in. Everyone is simply trying their best and working to figure this life out in their own way. It’s never too late to acknowledge any faults you recognize within yourself with grace and to work on improving upon them from here on out. At the end of the day, we only have ourselves and our perceptions of this existence, so why not ensure that we welcome it all with the utmost love and appreciation?
