Reset Before August: Embracing the Emotional Weight of Growth
By Elaine Smith
July is coming to a close—and with it, a quiet nudge from the universe to pause, breathe, and reflect. The last few weeks have been a whirlwind for many of us, especially those walking the path of purpose-driven work. Whether you're rebuilding your brand, restarting your business, or simply reimagining your life, this journey can feel like both a blessing and a burden. Or if the change is worth at this time.
I’ll be honest—even I forget how emotionally exhausting rebuilding and rebranding can be.
We often celebrate the idea of transformation, but rarely talk about the moments where we’re filled with doubt:
Am I making the right decision?
Is anyone even paying attention?
Are my gifts still needed?
These thoughts creep in quietly, especially when progress is slow or the support feels thin. It’s tempting to give up. It’s tempting to shrink.
But let me remind you—and myself—that this struggle is not a sign of failure. It’s proof that you’re growing.
Growth is hard. Resetting requires faith. Rebranding takes courage. It means choosing alignment over approval and purpose over popularity. It means telling yourself that who you are becoming is worth the risk of being misunderstood.
Here’s what I’ve learned in this season:
Resetting is sacred. It’s a divine invitation to clear out what no longer serves you so you can walk boldly into your next.
You are not starting over; you’re starting deeper. You’re building with more clarity, more conviction, and more compassion than before.
Your gifts are still needed—even if they feel hidden right now.
So as August approaches, don’t be afraid to hit reset. Rebrand. Rebuild. Rest if you need to, but don’t you dare give up. Your purpose is still waiting for you, and the world needs it more than ever. Take a deep breath, trust in the process, and keep moving forward.
In addition to these lessons, I've also discovered that resetting requires vulnerability. It means being open to change and letting go of what is comfortable in order to grow. It can be uncomfortable and scary at times, but the end result is worth it.
Rebranding also involves recognizing your worth and value. It's about understanding that your identity is not tied to external validation or popularity. You are worthy simply because you exist and have unique gifts to offer the world.
And while rebranding may seem like starting over, it's important to remember that it's actually building upon a strong
Your story is still being written—and the next chapter just might be the one that reminds you why you started in the first place.
As August approaches, give yourself permission to reset. Rebrand. Rest.
You’re growing, even if it’s not loud.
