Amal Khatib (she/her), Mental Health Therapist, MS
I received my M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from National Louis University at the Chicago campus. My goal as a therapist is to help my clients feel truly heard, find rest, and experience inner nourishment through mental wellness. I aim to walk alongside you—offering support as individuals recognize the strength they hold in their own healing journey.
My clinical experience spans working with children, adolescents, and adults, with a particular focus on supporting those in the SWANA, Middle Eastern, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA+ communities as they navigate trauma, crises, anxiety, depression, and grief. I also work with individuals with autism, ADHD, and other neurodivergence and mental health experiences.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in psychodynamic and attachment theories, alongside other trauma-informed care to help heal past wounds while embracing comfort and restoration. Cultural humility and understanding are an important part of my work. I continuously learn from my clients’ experiences, honoring their unique identities and the influence of culture on mental health.
My goal is to create a peaceful, supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and emotions without judgment. In this space, you will find comfort, rest, and the opportunity to develop gentle strategies that bring balance to your life. I am here to guide and support you as you discover the sound strength within you, helping you move forward on your path to healing.
