Mariah Sawyer, Mental Health Therapist, Intern

Opening up is hard to do. It can feel scary to share our authentic emotions and reactions, our not-so-great moments, and even our wins — all the stuff that makes up our lives — with our loved ones, let alone a new therapist! That's why I treat every interaction with each client as an opportunity to build trust, hold space, and set aside judgmental "shoulds" and "musts." From a background in education, I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults, and I have experience with grief counseling, crisis intervention, LGBTQ+ issues, trauma, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988), and recovery for substance abuse, depression, and anxiety. I am also available for counseling through life transitions and adjustments, concerns related to a kink lifestyle or ethical non-monogamy, and other personal or relationship concerns.
